4-H Base Camp: June 30th – July 3 rd Uncover nature’s mysteries one leaf at a time. Explore the limits of your survival skills while learning how to rely on the forest respectfully. Grill it, roast it, steam it, bake it how many ways can you cook your lunch. While the weathers cool we’ll spend time each day learning to cook in the great outdoors.

Scout Week One: July 14th - July 17th Traveling light, finding your edges, coming to your senses, and moving invisibly through the landscape are skills that belong to the ancient scouts. This week we will hone our own skills of nature awareness and self reliance through challenging games and routines.

Scout Week Two: July 28th- July 31st Continuing our routines from Scout Week One, we will read deeper into the landscape, camouflage with our surroundings, learn aidless navigation techniques and practice mastering the basics: shelter, water, fire and food.

Wild Crafting: August 18th - August 21st Harvesting and Crafting the raw materials of the land is the focus this week. Our hands and creative minds will keep busy as we transform wood, stone, feathers, and bones with fire, water and steel. We’ll also explore the process of expressing gratitude as we drink teas and eat foods from the wild.

Wilderness Week: August 25th - August 28th Travel with us into the wilderness. Explore the richness of our National Forest as we fill our bellies and bowls with wild blueberries. Celebrate the season as we forage and feast, build camps and fires, sing songs and play awareness games. Going beyond “survival” this will be a time to learn about caring for the forest while caring for ourselves.
